The vision of an innovative tent design was born in 2003 by the two founders Stefan Clauss and Stefan Schulze Dieckhoff during a joint surf trip along the Portuguese coastline. At that time, based on their own experiences, the idea of developing a tent with a unique, functional design to create a whole new camping experience was born for the first time. A flexible home, which is easy to set up and reliable in all weather conditions, leaving more time to enjoy the real travel experience.

Inspired by the architect, designer and futurist Buckminster Fuller and his findings in the field of geodesic domes, the founders introduced the first HEIMPLANET tent THE CAVE in 2011. The geodesic construction with the inflatable IDG technology (Inflatable Diamond Grid) distributes external forces optimally over the entire structure and offers the greatest possible volume in the smallest possible space. Setting up the tents is intuitive and follows a simple principle: roll out, inflate - done! Set up in less than a minute.

After the successful launch of the first tent, the two founders quickly realized: HEIMPLANET is not just a tent company. Thus, in 2012 they launched their first luggage system specialized for the requirements of the modern explorer. Now HEIMPLANET offers four carry lines with functional backpacks & bags as well as functional apparel and gear.
